Card to Culture

We are proud to offer the Card to Culture program, the most comprehensive effort of its kind in the nation to open doors to arts and culture experiences for low-income families, in collaboration with Mass Cultural Council, the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program and the Massachusetts Health Connector.

Card to Culture tickets are available in person at the box office and require proof of a valid EBT, WIC or ConnectorCare card. A maximum of four tickets per family may be purchased. Availability for individual shows may be limited.

We develop new plays for the American Theater.

Each weekend in July, audiences get to experience a newly developed play for the first time.

These staged readings provide the playwright with invaluable information about their as-yet-unproduced work.

A talkback session follows each presentation. Audience members directly engage with the playwrights, directors and cast. And changes are made to the work.
